E. coli Food Poisoning Attorneys for Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, Duluth and St. Cloud MN
Our attorneys have won millions for E. coli food poisoning victims in Minnesota
Our Minnesota law firm is one of a handful in the United States that has won hundreds of E. coli food poisoning lawsuits throughout the nation. Most of our cases involve E. coli O157:H7. We have won cases against restaurants, food manufacturers, distributors, retailers and others. In many cases, we can find more than one company to sue. This is important because some food poisoning outbreaks have resulted in one of the responsible companies going bankrupt.
We are not paid unless we win your case.

Below are answers to some of the questions we are frequently asked by client:
- How much is my E. coli food poisoning case worth? The answer to this depends on the facts of your case, what company is responsible (liable) and your attorney’s experience. One of the advantages of hiring our Minnesota E. coli attorneys is that we have dealt with many of the insurance companies that insure food manufacturers and restaurants. After investigating your case, we will have a good idea how much money to ask for in a lawsuit against the responsible parties.
- Will I get compensated for my pain and suffering? Yes, E. coli poisoning involves severe pain and suffering. Even in “mild” cases, there is extremely painful abdominal cramping and explosive bloody diarrhea. In some cases, the damage to the colon is so severe that part of the colon needs to be removed. Some E. coli cases develop into hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), which causes kidney failure, seizures, stroke, blindness, encephalopathy, heart problems, pancreatitis and sometimes death. We have represented many HUS E. coli victims in Minnesota and throughout the United States.
- Will I get compensated for my future medical expenses? Yes, we always seek compensation for our clients for their expected future medical expenses. All E. coli victims, even those who do not develop HUS, are at risk for having kidney problems in the future. For those who do develop HUS, there is a high likelihood that they will need to have a kidney transplant at some point in the future.

Minnesota Food Poisoning Lawyer Tapped for Food Litigation Experience

To contact Elliot Olsen, call 1-888-377-8900 (toll free)
Minnesota food poisoning lawyer Elliot Olsen was invited to speak at food safety symposiums in July and August hosted by the Produce Marketing Associations. Normally our firm finds itself in opposition to growers and handlers of fresh produce when contaminated lettuce, spinach, tomatoes or some other vegetable are linked to an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 or Salmonella. But Elliot’s central message to the industry at these symposiums had an unexpected twist.
While Pritzker Olsen law firm has a well-earned reputation from coast to coast for battling companies and collecting millions of dollars for victims of food poisoning, the firm’s overarching mission is to help make the U.S. food supply safer — a goal that Pritzker Olsen holds in common with most food producers.
“It’s not just a game to us,” said Elliot. “A big part of our mission is prevention.”
Elliot told attendees of the symposiums that companies learn valuable food safety lessons when victims of food poisoning assert their right to compensation for lost wages, unpaid medical bills, physical disability, and pain and suffering. Without the discipline that lawsuits can bring, no set of regulations from government could bring meaningful reform on their own.
A major portion of Elliot’s presentation focused on the human cost of food contamination. Take, for instance, a past client of Pritzker Olsen described to symposium attendees as Mr. Lewis (not his real name.). Mr. Lewis was a very active and healthy 81-year-old man when he contracted Listeriosis from adulterated food. The infection damaged his central nervous system and left him paralyzed. His hospitalization was followed by 400 days in a nursing home, ending in his death. By then, he was hardly recognizable.
Elliot said the crowds in Monterey and Austin — which included CEOs and other top-ranking produce company executives — were very receptive and dedicated to the concepts of prevention, adding, “I am optimistic that our joint efforts can greatly reduce foodborne illness.”
